// Composition

Centered

Centered composition puts the subject dead in the middle of the frame, splitting negative space evenly on both sides and often top to bottom too. It reads as formal, symmetrical, sometimes confrontational since the subject stares straight back at the viewer with no room to look away. Portraits, architecture, and product shots lean on this a lot because symmetry signals stability and draws the eye instantly without any guesswork about where to look.
